Kazakh scientist Meruert Tolegenkyzy has developed a unique biopreparation based on extracts of deer antler (Cervus elaphus sibiricus) and camel thorn (Alhagi maurorum / Vachellia erioloba), which possess powerful antioxidant action on human cells. The information was released by Kazinform, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
“Biologically active extracts obtained from deer antler are widely known in science. However, the combination of this extract with the camel thorn plant, with the aim of creating a biologically active supplement, is a new scientific approach,” explained the author of the study.
Deer antler is rich in 18 essential amino acids and presents a series of beneficial properties, such as strengthening the immune system, soothing the nervous system, treating joints, and strengthening the cardiovascular system. In turn, camel thorn has been used for therapeutic purposes in Kazakhstan since ancient times.
The antioxidants present in both extracts neutralize harmful substances in the body—free radicals—that accelerate cellular aging. The production of the new biopreparation is scheduled to begin in 2027, marking a milestone for Kazakhstan’s growing biotechnology sector.
