Multiple drones struck the ports of Duqm and Salalah in Oman, damaging at least one fuel storage tank. The Omani ports, located on the Arabian Sea outside the Strait of Hormuz, were considered the primary logistics alternative for Gulf oil exports.
The attacks effectively eliminate the bypass route: with Hormuz closed and alternative ports under fire, Gulf export options have shrunk dramatically.
Maritime insurers have raised war risk classifications for the Sohar area, making freight and insurance costs prohibitive for shipowners.
